Energy Conservation Program
Working in and around campuses for the past 20 years has given us an up close view of how the different mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems operate and influence one another. Our invovlement on central utility plant and distribution modernizations, combined with our regular involvement in individual building system design, makes consideration of first and life cycle costs a must. In addition, this experience informs our planning and project management work. Our first energy conservation program was completed in 2005.A typical program includes:
- Data collection and benchmarking (how much and where?)
- Buy it better programs (procurement strategies)
- Building surveys and prioritization (identifying the low hanging fruit)
- Central utility plan evaluation (generation and distribution)
- Energy awareness programs (changing the demand side through behavior)
