History - Celebrating 20 Years

In 1989, after spending many years in the design, construction, and development fields, Dan Gainsboro decided it was time to harness his entrepreneurial spirit and create Genesis Planners. Dan's goal was to provide institutions – with their large campuses and multiple buildings – the same access to strategic planning and implementation tactics he had successfully employed at his previous job with a national development company. With this goal in mind and an unrelenting commitment to his clients’ success, Genesis Planners was born.

From the start, Genesis has embodied a business sensibility based on the Four C’s: Caring, Commitment, Context, and Competency. All of our staff members are creative problem-solvers who are able to move back and forth between the big picture and the details of a project. The Genesis team is dedicated to fostering a continuous learning environment, and above all, we are dedicated to your success.

Over the last two years, Genesis has begun to apply our planning and project management expertise to development projects. These services are being applied in both our own projects as well as for developer clients. Our first project will be a 13-unit, net-zero energy, cottage community located in Concord, MA. The project will be environmentally responsible, community oriented and convenient to public transportation.
